IT LIVES!!!!!!!(one)
So against all odds, friends... apparently submerging my cell phone in rice for a week actually worked!
Who knew that in this, the internets were right?
It has developed kind of a strange rattle whenever it rings, making me wonder if some of the smaller grains managed to find their way through the various openings in the sides and bottom of the phone, but strange rattly rings are way better than, you know, not having a phone that works, and not having anyone's numbers, and not having that photo I took of my mother on roller skates.

Now I'm hanging out in the living room with my aforementioned mother, "watching" American Idol and doing homework. Yes, this is how I spend my Wednesday nights.
"It always looks so strange when they've got wires coming out of their back like that," says Mom, reflectively, watching the guest singer leaping around the stage. "It's like some sort of horrible robot growth."
Aw, no Mom.
That's just Miley Cyrus.
She always looks like that.
